Concentric Squares

Resources:

Create your own squares.

How It Works

There are many versions of this activity. (I was first introduced this on a training session with fellow ASTs by Dr Andy Love.)

You can adapt it for any subject and any year group
A picture? A text? A diagram? A quote? A technique?

You could...

Start by blue-tacing a picture in the red square...

When they lift the square- behind it will contain instructions for the square.

Students will write on parts of the square that border the square its behind! (Re-read, it makes sense!!)

E.G- (These can be based on levels/grade descriptors/mark schemes)

Why is this useful:

It gives the students an overview of the key elements of their task. It allows for you to work in groups. It ensures deeper thinking...by getting students to deep dive into the task...
